I have started looking into funding possibilities for the idea of the Artist in Residence scheme, and for the actual animated film itself - which would help with the cost of the puppet (I'm gaining help from an ex-employer, Mackinnon & Saunders - see email below...) One funding opportunity I'm looking into is through Arts Council England (see below). This particular opportunity is aimed at artists, is a returning scheme, and is aimed at projects that will end by October 2017,
Summer Show (Exhibition) - Plan First and foremost, before any such ‘Artist in Residence’ scheme can take place, the summer show is a priority. Taking place soon, with the Private View on Thursday 9th June, I need to consider/sort out the following… Contact Clemmie James about the above issues and make sure I’m doing everything ethically and politically correct. I plan to project a variety of material onto this caravan, and so I want to ensure no particular colours/shapes/fig
Taking my daughter, Isabel, on a trip to Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne on her birthday I also took it as an opportunity to sketch some animals/settings that reminded me of my childhood. These will also be projected within the major project, and are showcased here, along with some inspirational photos.
A few weeks ago I began my replica of the Gypsy caravan from 'The Wind in the Willows' and it is nearly there. As part of my ongoing exploitation into childhood nostalgia I visited Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight to recapture some of the images/feelings I had when I visited this, the oldest theme park in England, back in 1984 when I was just 3 years of age. While there I did some sketches, representing my nostalgic memories - and fears of a particular whale model - and also created some footage from a child's point of view, along with some photos. This will eventually be incorpor
