Folk Tale/Myth

READING:

Myth and Meaning – leitmotifs (sounds – feelings)

Morphology of the Folktale – understanding the origins/structure of folklore. A connection with folk music? Can the story of the caravan be treated as a nostalgic folktale? Folktale versus Fairy tale?

The Writer’s Journey – making the caravan into a character? Connect this with mythology, and learning from it in relation to screenwriting for a pilot?

Animation, Genre and Authorship (for Genre too) – exploring who and why we make animation. What kind of animation do I hope to achieve featuring the (a) caravan?

Peter and the Wolf – music as narrative/character archetypes/31 narrative stages (apply to the story of the caravan?) – Find a suitable piece of music and bring the story down to the familiar 12 stages of narrative
