September 2016: 'When I Was a Lad' - New Lyrics

The Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, HMS Pinafore (1878), featured a song called 'When I Was a Lad'. For my project I decided to incorporate my passion for G&S, and theatre in general, by re-writing the lyrics to this song so that it became autobiographical. My wife takes credit for most of these lyrics, after I categorized the verses. The lyrics are as follows, and a video featuring a performance of the video song is also below...
