February 2017: Innovation in Hand Design

I have developed a new system of using replacement hands for my puppet, rather than adopt the traditional method of making lots of replacement wire hands (usually cast in silicone or latex). I have designed the key expressions required (not just for my puppet but generally) and these will be cast by my friend, Westley Wood, who runs Animation Toolkit in Manchester. The idea is to save time and money on maintenance, and in the animation I will 'hide' the transition between different hands by changing them during fast movements.

The designs (by myself) and final Maya models (by Westley) are seen here.
