VIDEO REVIEW - The Grand Annual Show (Series 1, Episode 7)
The 29th of my video reviews dedicated to the making of Cosgrove Hall's film and series of 'The Wind in the Willows', featuring 'picture in picture' and the odd 'behind the scenes' image too! This one is for Episode 7 from Series 1, 'The Grand Annual Show' (originally transmitted 9th November 1984). We are now into the final month of summer, and the time for gathering in of harvest has begun - so this episode feels very apt. This was released on the VHS cassette 'Summer Escapades', re-released a number of times over the years. As a special treat, the entire script to this episode can be read on-screen as you watch, so look out for any differences (quite a few in this one).
Reviews of the series continues as we progress through late summer, on Sunday 11th August 2019, with 'Hall for Sale' (Episode 8 from Series 4).
All 52 episodes have been sorted into a special 'seasonal' order. The remaining 13 'bonus' episodes (Series 5/the 'Oh! Mr Toad!' spin-off episodes) are being reviewed, one by one, as 'additions' every 4 weeks. Comments very welcome. :)
