VIDEO REVIEW - A Producer's Lot (Series 3, Episode 11)
The 40th of my video reviews dedicated to the making of Cosgrove Hall's film and series of 'The Wind in the Willows', featuring 'picture in picture' and the odd 'behind the scenes' image too, including archival photos of existing costumes and props and original drawings! This one is for Episode 11 from Series 3, 'A Producer's Lot' (originally transmitted in the UK on 12th March 1987). It was released on the 'Masquerade' video the same year, and later on the Time-Life DVD, 'Wise Old Badger', in 2003, before appearing on the 'Complete Collection' DVD box set in 2008.
We are progressing steadily through Autumn 2019, and so this one, where the Riverbankers and Wild Wooders put on a production of 'The Pirates of Penzance' - before the colder weather takes hold - feels very apt! The entire script can be read on-screen as you watch, so look out for any differences, including quite a bit of deleted dialogue.
Reviews of the series continues as we head further into the autumn, on Sunday 13th October 2019, with 'Bankruptcy' (Episode 4 from Series 2).
All 52 episodes have been sorted into a special 'seasonal' order. The remaining 13 'bonus' episodes (Series 5/the 'Oh! Mr Toad!' spin-off episodes) are being reviewed, one by one, as 'additions' every 4 weeks. Comments very welcome. :)
