VIDEO REVIEW - The Kidnapping of Toad (Series 1, Episode 2)
The 47th of my video reviews dedicated to the making of Cosgrove Hall's film and series of 'The Wind in the Willows', featuring 'picture in picture' and the odd 'behind the scenes' image too, including archival photos of existing costumes and props and original drawings! This one is for Episode 2 from Series 1, 'The Kidnapping of Toad' (originally transmitted in the UK on 4th May 1984). It was originally released in the UK on the 'Patient: Toad and Other Stories' video in 1989, and later on DVD in 2007. You can follow the entire script as you watch - and look out for quite a bit of deleted dialogue.
Apologies for the slight mix-up with the episode order. This was originally going to be posted two weeks ago but then I decided on the Halloween and Bonfire Night episodes as they were more apt. As Autumn 2019 is drawing towards a close, this one feels right for this time of year.
Please ignore what I say at the end of the video! Reviews don't continue with 'Monster of the Wild Wood', but with 'Unlikely Allies' (Episode 10 from Series 3) on Sunday 17th November 2019.
All 52 episodes have been sorted into a special 'seasonal' order. The remaining 13 'bonus' episodes (Series 5/the 'Oh! Mr Toad!' spin-off episodes) are being reviewed, one by one, as 'additions' every 4 weeks. Comments very welcome. :)
