VIDEO REVIEW - The Rescue (Series 2, Episode 3)

The 62nd of my video reviews, aimed at us nostalgic adults, dedicated to the making of Cosgrove Hall's 1980's film and series of 'The Wind in the Willows', featuring 'picture in picture' and the odd 'behind the scenes' image too, including archival photos of existing costumes and props and original drawings! This one is for Episode 3 from Series 2, 'The Rescue' (originally transmitted in the UK on 14th January 1986). It was also released multiple times on the 'Winter Tales' video from 1986, before finally becoming available on DVD from 2003. I consider this one a true classic, having been available on home video from pretty much the very beginning!

As a winter episode this one feels apt for the time of year, with the weather growing colder still here in the UK. We continue through late winter with my review for 'Bricks and Mortar' (Series 4, Episode 2), on Sunday 9th February 2020.

All 52 episodes have been sorted into a special 'seasonal' order. The remaining 13 'bonus' episodes (Series 5/the 'Oh! Mr Toad!' spin-off episodes) are being reviewed, one by one, as 'additions' every 4 weeks. Comments very welcome. :)
