VIDEO REVIEW - Bricks and Mortar (Series 4, Episode 2)
The 63rd of my video reviews, aimed at us nostalgic adults, dedicated to the making of Cosgrove Hall's 1980's film and series of 'The Wind in the Willows', featuring 'picture in picture' and the odd 'behind the scenes' image too, including archival photos of existing costumes and props and original drawings! This one is for Episode 2 from Series 4, 'Bricks and Mortar' (originally transmitted in the UK on 6th January 1988). It was never released on VHS and so only became available on home video with the DVD release of the complete series in 2008. The entire, heavily annotated script can be read on-screen as you watch so look out for any differences (quite a few in this one).
Specifically an episode set in February, this feels apt for the time of year in 2019. We heads towards the end of Winter with my review for 'Buried Treasure' (Series 1, Episode 5), on Sunday 16th February 2020.
All 52 episodes have been sorted into a special 'seasonal' order. The remaining 13 'bonus' episodes (Series 5/the 'Oh! Mr Toad!' spin-off episodes) are being reviewed, one by one, as 'additions' every 4 weeks. Comments very welcome. :)
